Akeel has a first class honours degree from Manchester University and gained a distinction (first class pass) on the Legal Practice Course. Akeel qualified as a solicitor in September 1999 and joined the firm in January 2001 from a Manchester City Centre firm.

Akeel specialises in corporate and commercial work which includes advising on mergers, acquisitions, sales, equity investment, business or group restructuring, placings of shares (whether public or private) and AIM and PLUS flotations. Akeel also has specialist expertise in Corporate Recovery & Insolvency work. Akeel acts for both public and private companies, partnerships and other unincorporated bodies.
